Co-Chairs

Garry Maisel.  Garry Maisel has held the position of President and Chief Executive Officer at Western Health Advantage (WHA) since 1998.  Prior to being named CEO, Garry was WHA's Chief Operating Officer and the first employee of the organization when it was founded in 1996.  In addition to 18 years of experience in healthcare, Garry has 10 years in the banking and finance industry.  Garry sits on the boards of various community and professional organizations, including California Association of Health Plans, the statewide health plan trade association, the Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts, The American Leadership Forum, The Non-Profit Resource Center and Hope Productions Foundation.  He holds a degree in finance and economics from Sacramento State University.

 

Don Roth.  Dr. Don Roth is the executive director of the Robert and Margrit Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts at UC Davis. He also holds a lectureship in the UC Davis Music Department. A native of New York City, Roth joined the Mondavi Center in June 2006, arriving from the Aspen Music Festival and School, where he served as president from 2001 through 2006.  Prior to his tenure in Aspen, Roth was president and executive director of the Saint Louis Symphony from 1998-2001.  During the 1980's and 1990's, Roth held leadership positions on the West Coast at the San Francisco Symphony as general manager and the Oregon Symphony as president.  Roth serves on the Board of Overseers of the Curtis Institute of Music. In addition, he is a member of the Board of Directors of the League of American Orchestras, the national organization of symphony orchestra professionals, trustees, and volunteers.  Roth received a BA from Brown University and an MA from Yale University in American History and holds a doctorate from the University of Texas with a specialty in African-American History.
